F&G Life Re Ltd was established in Bermuda in 2017 and was licensed as a Class C Insurer by the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) to write long-term reinsurance. In May 2021, it was reclassed as a Class E Insurer.

Why Bermuda?
With over forty years being an international leader in reinsurance, Bermuda is often referred to as the “world’s risk capital.” Not only did it receive full Solvency II Equivalence in March 2016, but it also received approval from the US National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) as a Reciprocal Jurisdiction in 2019 after having received Qualified Jurisdiction Status in 2015.
Additionally, Bermuda has 40 bilateral Tax Information Exchange Agreements (TIEA’s) with all major trading partners. The US has also cited the Bermuda government as a cooperative partner and has two tax law enforcement treaties in place with Bermuda.
Moody's has assigned a credit rating of A2 with a stable outlook. This is the mid-range of the third-highest rating out of nine financial strength ratings.
